Lantern, the Specialty Care Platform, connects members with top local care for surgery, cancer and infusions, helping them get the excellent, affordable care they deserve.
At Lantern, our name reflects our mission. Whether someone needs care from a top-quality surgeon, resources after a cancer diagnosis or infusion therapy, we guide members to the best specialty care for them and back to feeling like themselves.
More than half of Americans put off care due to cost—including those who have insurance. We negotiate rates that are 55%+ lower than those of traditional insurance carriers, leading to significant savings employers can pass on to their employees to make care affordable.1

Our Story
We founded our company in 2011 with a focus on surgery, which makes up a big part of employer healthcare spending and puts huge financial strain on employees and their families, too.
Surgery can be complicated. It’s hard to know where to find the best care. But Lantern can help with that. By focusing on local access and recruiting the best surgeons for our network, we’ve helped thousands of people get better results while making care affordable.
Expanding Our Services
Cancer care was next. A diagnosis of cancer is life-changing and knowing where to turn for the best care in a stressful situation is difficult. We know that every day counts when you need to start treatment, so Lantern built relationships at the best local and national cancer centers to help members get the right treatment as close to home as possible.
Looking to the Future
Most recently, we’ve turned to infusions. A growing number of Americans need regular infusion therapy for certain types of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and more. We work with top providers to ensure members get care at the best place for them, which includes at-home treatment options for safe, convenient care.
