Doug Monkhouse

Doug Monkhouse is Lantern’s Chief Legal Officer. As Chief Legal Officer, Doug strives to ensure that the organization effectively manages risk, and that it remains a trustworthy and compliant partner for the benefit of its members, clients, and providers. In his role as Chief of Staff, Doug advises other executive leaders during the planning of major company initiatives, provides practical business insight and cross-functional support during the execution of those initiatives, and regularly reports key issues and updates to the CEO.  Since joining the company in 2019, Doug has provided legal, compliance, risk management, and strategic leadership during periods of the company’s substantial growth and expansion of its product offerings. 

Before joining Lantern, Doug practiced as an attorney in the Dallas office of Bracewell LLP, tackling disputes and transactions in industries including healthcare, finance, technology, real estate, energy, and infrastructure.  Doug earned his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law, and holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University. Doug and his wife Mary live in Dallas with their rescued Golden Retriever, Gus.
