
Raymond Hwang, MD
Dr. Raymond Hwang is Vice President & Medical Director at Lantern. Prior to Lantern, Dr. Hwang was the Senior Medical Director at Hinge Health, where he led clinical product development, operations and strategy. He is also a board-certified spine surgeon at New England Baptist Hospital, Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine, a reviewer for various peer-reviewed journals including Spine and The Spine Journal, and serves on the Institutional Review Board, Perioperative Executive Products Committee, Physician Advisory Council and Musculoskeletal Steering Committee at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts. He has over 13 years of clinical experience as a spine surgeon and 10+ years of experience as an advisor to healthcare and medtech companies. Dr. Hwang earned his BS and MEng in computer science and electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his MD from Harvard Medical School, underwent residency training at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, completed his fellowship in spine surgery at New England Baptist Hospital, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a beach volleyball enthusiast and an amateur behavioral economist.
